For the last time as Miss Beach Cities 2010...

Hello all!

Well, it seems that my year of service has just FLOWN by! I can't believe that this past weekend was my last weekend as Miss Beach Cities 2010. It was such an honor to serve our community with this title, and thankfully, the weekend ended with my simultaneous farewell and crowning! You heard that correctly! This past weekend, I was lucky enough to be crowned your Miss Westchester Coastal 2011! I am so excited to be going back to Fresno, I can hardly contain it! [and as I have told people on multiple occasions, I've practically already started packing!!]

But to recap on the past months, I had a wonderful end my summer, getting to work with the great kids of the Pediatric Therapy Network as a Counselor at Camp Escapades. I made some wonderful friends and worked with some pretty awesome people, who continue to inspire the work that I do with my personal service platform: "Voice Over Violence: Break Through the Silence!"

I recently re-focused the topic of my service platform to reflect what concerns me most—DV Awareness (Legislative and Survivor Support/Promotion). I attended the NCADV's national conference in Anaheim, California in August where I met individuals and activists from across the country. We spoke on the issues of DV as it affects heterosexual and LGBT and Allied relationships as well as the preventative measures in place and that will be in place following the approval of I-VAWA and the continued government support and promotion of the VAWA-2006.

I learned so much and can't wait to continue my work with local, state, and national organizations to further the reach of my platform. Additionally, as the holidays are coming up, I can't wait to get to work with my fellow titleholders to raise funds for CMN!

Thank you all so very much for your support over the years and for your continued belief in and support of me. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful family, friends, and pageant sisters.

Lastly, I ask that everyone continues their support, love, and prayers for our Miss California 2010, Arianna Afsar, as she continues on her journey towards becoming Miss America 2011. She is doing California proud by dedicating herself to the organization and its purpose and has made wonderful contributions to the state and country as a performer, role model, and all-around sweetheart! She is such a giving spirit and I am so proud to call her a friend (she was the first one to call me after I won the Miss Westchester Coastal title to congratulate me, because that's the kind of awesome person she is :] and we love her for it!)

For the last time as your Miss Beach Cities 2010
And for the FIRST time as your Miss Westchester Coastal 2011...
